FACULTY UNION DECLARES NO CONFIDENCE IN COLLEGE ADMINISTRATORS
For Immediate Release_ March 3,2025

FRESNO, CALIFORNIA- The State Center Federation of Teachers (SCFT) will be publicly presenting Votes of No Confidence against Madera Community College Administration, specifically President Angel Reyna and Vice President of Learning and Student Success (VPLSS), Dr. Marie Harris. These resolutions will be read aloud to the SCCCD Board of Trustees at their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. at Reedley College.
These resolutions were drafted by the Executive Council of SCFT, after leaders from the Madera Community College Academic Senate came to their faculty union seeking support for their own resolutions of no confidence against the administrators.
The 28 member Council voted unanimously to support the MCC Academic Senate, as many continue to be appalled by the inappropriate behaviors of their administrators, stemming from controversy surrounding a Competency Based Education (CBE) program, which received its initial funding in early 2021.

Following the initial funding for this pilot program, there was blatant disregard from President Reyna for the curricular processes–which is faculty purview–outlined by the Education Code. This has been exacerbated by retaliatory actions from both President Reyna and the VPI, Dr. Marie Harris.
